A dedicated IT-enabled collaboration space for stimulating multidisciplinary research, pedagogy and collaboration. The “collaboratorium” uses technologies such as immersive video conferencing surveillance and RFID to create an open yet secure studio and “playroom” for agile development by students and faculty in multi-disciplinary courses such as “Innovation and Invention in IT” and by extracurricular interdisciplinary student projects. The “physical wiki” so created will be a shared collaborative environment for creation of tools and technologies that can support further creativity and collaboration. The project aims to raise the visibility and actuality of creative collaboration across the RIT campus and to develop models that can be replicated at other institutions.
